Blot til Lyst was founded in 1990, and began as a theatresports group.
In Denmark there were a lot of groups during the 1990s who worked with short form improv, but Blot til Lyst was looking for something different for developing the group and the way they played.
During a visit to USA in 1995 they learned about longform improv which inspired them to develope their own formats such as Mosaic, Stage Crashing and Komikaze.

The name Blot til Lyst ("Just for fun") refers to the slogan above the stage of the The Royal Danish Theatre: Ej blot til lyst ("Not just for fun").

Right now the group is playing Gorilla Theatre™ under license from ITI.
They are also doing regular improvshows and during the last few years they have participated in festivals in Kiel and Berlin (Germany), Oslo (Norway), Leuven (Belgium) and Copenhagen (Denmark).
